How do I register for the workshop/dinner?

We will send out an invitation to register as we approach the date of the conference.

Can I edit my abstract?

Once we have completed the review process, we will announce an abstract editing period for all accepted abstracts.

Can I come to the poster session even if I'm not registered for WiML?

Yes, the poster session is also open to NIPS attendees.

How can I join the WiML network?

Join our Google Group.

I'm a man. Can I attend WiML?

Yes. All genders are welcome to attend! Note however, all speakers and poster presenters will be women, as our goal is to promote women in machine learning. This is a technical workshop with exciting technical talks.

I missed the submission deadline. Can I still submit?

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept late submissions. However, we encourage you to stay in touch for future events by joining the WiML network.

Does registering for WiML also mean I'm registered for NIPS?

Unfortunately, no. You would still need to register separately for NIPS – their registration process is at https://nips.cc/.

Do I have to register for NIPS in addition to registering for WiML, in order to attend WiML?

No. WiML registration is separate from NIPs registration.  We will add additional information as the registration deadline approaches.

How can I get more information on workshop logistics, such as transportation, lodging, and roommates?

Check out the logistics page!

I want to support WiML by providing sponsorship / recruiting at the workshop. Who should I talk to?

Thank you for your support! Please contact us.

How can I sign up to be a reviewer for WiML?

You can sign up to review for WiML when you submit your abstract through our abstract submission system.  If you are not submitting an abstract but would like to participate in the reviewing process send us an email to sign up.

Do I need to attend both days of WiML?

You do not need to attend both WiML sessions.  However, to be eligible for a travel award you must participate in the abstract review process, have your abstract accepted for a talk or poster, and present your work at the poster session on the day you are assigned.

How much are travel awards?

Travel awards are distributed based on geographic location and the amount varies depending on the amount of sponsorship funding.  Support varies from year to year, but in the past attendees have received $300-$900 in support.

I have never been a reviewer before, can I still sign up to review?

Yes, we encourage everyone to sign up to participate as a reviewer.  We will match abstracts with individuals from all backgrounds.  This is a great opportunity to get practice and acquainted with the conference reviewing system. Note, you must participate as a reviewer to be eligible for a travel award.

My paper is accepted in WiML, can I get a ticket for NIPS?

No, WiML is not affiliated with NIPs and as a presenter for WiML you do not qualify for the NIPS pool of tickets.

I have a question that's not answered here. How do I reach you?
